Whats the new ipod touch gonna be like? whens it coming out?

The itouch 2nd gen is breaking... water i think, and i was wondering when there going to make a new one, and what its gonna look like...
My friend said there gonna be tablet style, like all touch screen and its gonna be more rectangular and slimmer.

Any info would be nice
