I have asked a question about making a tablet PC to manufacture. I have decided to be more general. How do I just get a custom motherboard, screen, touch overlay, etc. to make a tablet PC? Where can I get these components designed custom and manufactured for me? How expensive would a prototype be? Thanks.

Im trying to make a touch screen mini tablet type media device. would it be possible to take a mini laptop remove the keyboard and unnecessary parts and replace the screen with one from a touchscreen gps? If anyone has any ideas or comments please feel free.
